In 2010 there were almost 60 entries and the outright winner of the £500 cash prize was Richard Birch who lives on Anglesey.
His engaging article titled Extract from a Victorian diary was written through the eyes of Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson.
In 2nd place was Chris Kinsey with The Art of Seeing Kingfishers
In 2009 the competition was open only to students at universities in Wales.
The judges were unable to choose an outright winner and awarded the £500 prize money equally to Dave Wright from Bangor University and Owen Bidder from Swansea University.
